Marubeni Invests in Nguyet Minh 2, Expanding Vietnam’s Circular Economy
Ho Chi Minh City, 10 February 2025 – Marubeni Corporation has invested in Nguyet Minh 2 Trading-Services-Environment JSC (NM2), a leading aluminum recycling company in Vietnam, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable investments and the development of a circular economy.
NM2 is an EPR-certified recycler specializing in melting aluminum scrap—primarily used beverage cans (UBCs)—to produce low-carbon aluminum ingots. These ingots emit only 3% of the greenhouse gases compared to primary aluminum production, making them a crucial component in global carbon reduction efforts.
Through this investment, Marubeni aims to:
- Expand NM2’s recycling operations and production capacity.
- Ensure a stable, long-term supply of sustainable aluminum.
- Strengthen Vietnam’s circular economy by reducing environmental impact.
