Voltality Launches Integrated EV Charging on Grab Vietnam

Voltality Launches Integrated EV Charging on Grab Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, 20 April 2026 – Voltality, Southeast Asia’s leading EV charging roaming network, has launched an integrated EV charging platform within the Grab Driver App in Vietnam, enabling driver-partners to locate, charge, and pay across multiple charging networks from a single application.

Branded as “EV Utility” (Tiện Ích Xe Điện), the platform is expected to connect over 250 public charging stations from four charging point operators in the first half of 2026, with initial partners including Charge+ and EBOOST. Voltality already connects over 15,000 charging points from more than 20 operators across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Vietnam marks a strategic expansion for Voltality. The platform addresses a real problem for EV drivers: fragmented charging infrastructure requiring multiple apps, prepaid wallets, and unreliable station data. By consolidating access through the Grab Driver App, Voltality and Grab are removing barriers to EV adoption.

Vilasia advised Voltality on its Vietnam operations, providing legal support across commercial agreements with charging point operators, platform terms and conditions, data privacy compliance, and regulatory structuring for the Vietnamese market. The engagement is among the first eRoaming platform transactions in Vietnam. Special Counsel Nam Trinh led the engagement under the oversight of Managing Partner Ngu Truong.

Marubeni Invests in Nguyet Minh 2, Expanding Vietnam’s Circular Economy

Marubeni Invests in Nguyet Minh 2, Expanding Vietnam’s Circular Economy

Ho Chi Minh City, 10 February 2025 – Marubeni Corporation has invested in Nguyet Minh 2 Trading-Services-Environment JSC (NM2), a leading aluminum recycling company in Vietnam, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable investments and the development of a circular economy.

NM2 is an EPR-certified recycler specializing in melting aluminum scrap—primarily used beverage cans (UBCs)—to produce low-carbon aluminum ingots. These ingots emit only 3% of the greenhouse gases compared to primary aluminum production, making them a crucial component in global carbon reduction efforts.

Through this investment, Marubeni aims to:

  • Expand NM2’s recycling operations and production capacity.
  • Ensure a stable, long-term supply of sustainable aluminum.
  • Strengthen Vietnam’s circular economy by reducing environmental impact.

Vilasia advised NM2 on the transaction, providing strategic guidance from pre-transaction structuring through investment negotiations to closing execution.

“This investment marks a significant step in fostering Vietnam’s resource-circulating economy. We are proud to have supported NM2 in securing this strategic partnership with Marubeni,” said Ngu Truong, Managing Partner at Vilasia.
